Obama for change

My desktop image.

We both have been feverishly following the campaign, watching the debates on TV or online and constantly refreshing the NY Times homepage at work. It's hard not to be excited about the campaign Obama has been running, the prospect of Indiana going Blue and our votes actually counting! We both have our absentee ballots and will scan and e-mail them asap.

We're going to Lotte World tomorrow - the largest indoor amusement park in the world. It's the Disney World of South Korea.

We didn't make it to Lotte World. We slept in too long - a problem we have been having off and on. We will try again next weekend. On the bright side, I got my absentee ballot scanned and e-mailed. I am waiting for a confirmation e-mail, but assuming all was done properly I have now cast my vote for this election. I even took the time to educate myself about everyone running for each office. Christine was impressed with my responsible voting tactics!

Wonderful! I, too, set up an absentee ballot and voted Obama. Do you really think Indiana will go Blue? Such a Red state... but we can only hope. I know my dad wouldn't agree, but I've done my homework, and believe it or not, the U.S. elections are bigger up here than the recent Canadian election we had and I feel I am making a very well informed decision. We have media coverage of course, but it's more objective because it's not U.S. media coverage in the middle of it all. And we don't see any of those nasty campaign ads on TV, either. I didn't (couldn't) vote in the recent Canadian election, but I did get to go see Lucas vote and it's very similar to how we do it back home. Anyway, glad to see another family member a fan of Obama. Obama for change!

We did not get any of the ads over here, either. We get only get one TV station in English and are usually limited to Jay Leno and Dave Letterman by the time we get home. It was pretty nice not having to watch all of the negative ads this year about the election. We were able to watch most of the debates one day later either on TV or on the internet. It has been a lot of fun watching this election and the strong possibility of Indiana going Blue this year.

About Me

We are both living in South Korea teaching English as a second language to elementary aged students. We arrived in September 2008 to work at L*Bridge for one year. It's like a reality TV show without the cameras and obscene backstabbing. See you in 2009!
